January

Hello everyone!

I know it's been a while and I am learning that I really can't use the excuse that "things have been really crazy", because I thing that is just normal now. Anyway, January was a fun month bringing with it some interesting changes. First of all, I started a new position at work. I am now the NGRI coordinator for Henrico County (NGRI stands for Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity). It's not as scary as it sounds. I will be overseeing the cases of all individual who have taken this plea in Henrico. The job entails a variety of other responsibilities. I think it will be a great learning experience and I am looking forward to getting back to my "forensic roots". It is also nice because this position required me to move my office to a different location which is much closer to Wheaton's daycare. I do miss my colleagues at the East Center. Shout out to all my East Side peeps!

Wheaton also had a busy January. He is a lot like Adam in the sense that he gets bored very easily. As he becomes more and more aware of things, he wants to be stimulated all the time. Here are some of the highlights:

He had his first trip to Maymount on an unseasonably warm afternoon:



He got the ok from the doctor to ride in the jogging stroller, which he loves! It has a speaker for the i-pod, so her can listen to music with us. His favorite jogging album is American Idiot by Green Day. It really keeps him pumped.


He has to get very bundled up first, but he doesn't seem to mind:

Although he discovered his feet a while ago, he spent most of January trying trying to get them to fit in his mouth.
He has continued to practice sitting up:


As you can see he has started laughing a lot more. Apparently there is something really hilarious about our coat tree.

He has continues to be the perfect model for mommy and daddy to take millions of pictures of daily!


Other milestones this month:

He weighed in at 15 pounds and 12 ounces at his last doctor's appointment.

He started eating some more solid foods. In addition to rice cereal, he has now had bananas, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, and peas. I think he likes bananas the best.

Merry Christmas!

Well, hello everyone and Merry Christmas (just a few weeks late)! This has been a crazy month. I apologize that I have not posted in so long. I think I was overwhelmed with trying to sift through the 500 plus pictures we took this month and pick my favorites to post. Anyway, here are a few of my faves. The shot of Wheaton we used for our Christmas card above was one of them of course! I suppose it would only be appropriate to begin this post with pictures from our Christmas celebrations, so here goes.

We stared off the festivities at the annual Schepker Christmas Eve party, hosted by my parents this year.


To the excitement of all of the kids, Santa Claus made an appearance.


Wheaton enjoyed meeting his extended family.......

....and seeing his aunties again.

We were up very early Christmas morning.

We all wore our pajamas over to Mimi and Papa's on Christmas morning.

We spent the day opening presents and snuggling.....

The boys enjoyed playing the wii!


Wheaton was very excited about all of the books he got for Christmas!

We all had a great time.......

.........but we were all pretty tuckered out by the end of the day!

and enjoyed some tasty appetizers.....

It was a really fun night!

Other mile stones this month include:

1) Wheaton has rolled over from back to front and front to back
2) He weighs 15 pound and 7 ounces
3) He is 25 and 1/2 inches long
4) He tried solid food for the first time (rice cereal)......

I don't think he really cared for it.......

We will keep trying this month!
